Google is adjusting YouTube Premium prices in Greece, increasing the cost of both individual and family subscriptions.
The price of the individual package is now set at 10.99 euros per month , compared to 9.99 euros previously. Correspondingly, the family plan YouTube Premium Family increases to 19.99 euros per month , from 17.99 euros.
On an annual basis, the change corresponds to an additional cost of 12 euros for the individual subscription and 24 euros for the family subscription .
For existing subscribers, the new charge is expected to be applied according to the renewal cycle of each subscription. In relevant updates to users, the start date of the new pricing is indicated as September 30, 2026 .
Premium Lite at 6.49 euros
The increases in full packages come at a time when YouTube also offers the more affordable Premium Lite on the Greek market.
This specific subscription costs 6.49 euros per month , now creating a difference of 4.50 euros compared to the regular individual Premium.
Premium Lite is primarily aimed at those who want to watch most of YouTube’s content ad-free, but don’t need all the services that come with the full subscription.
The biggest difference is that Lite doesn’t include YouTube Music Premium , but ads may still appear in certain content categories, like music videos and Shorts, as well as elsewhere on the service.
What does the full YouTube Premium offer?
With regular YouTube Premium, subscribers have access to ad-free videos, the ability to download content for offline viewing, and background playback.
The package also includes YouTube Music Premium , offering ad-free music and the additional features of the music service.
The family plan allows the subscription manager to share the benefits with up to five additional household members, which still makes it more economical per user when used by several people.
Premium or Premium Lite?
With the new prices, the choice between the two packages depends more on how you use the platform.
For someone who uses YouTube Music regularly, downloads videos, or takes advantage of background playback and other features of the full service, Premium is still the complete package.
Conversely, for users primarily interested in watching non-music content with significantly limited ads, the €6.49 Premium Lite is the cheapest alternative.
The new pricing policy now widens the gap between the two tiers, giving Premium Lite a clearer role as an economical option and maintaining the full Premium as the service with the full set of available privileges.
