An armed attack that occurred on Wednesday afternoon at an apartment building in downtown Minneapolis , Minnesota , ended in tragedy with at least two dead and several injured.
According to official announcements, a total of seven people were taken to a nearby hospital, with three of them undergoing emergency surgery with serious gunshot wounds.
The bloody incident took on even more dramatic proportions as it was confirmed by the municipal authorities that among the victims were two police officers who lost their lives. At the same time, three more police officers were injured during the operation and are receiving medical attention.
As authorities have clarified, the perpetrator is dead , having been neutralized at the scene, but his motives or the circumstances under which the attack began have not yet been clarified. The identities of the victims have not yet been announced, as the investigation by the prosecution authorities remains in full swing in the area.
In the wake of the developments, the state’s governor, Tim Walsh , stated that the public safety team is actively responding to the incident. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the law enforcement forces who tried to protect citizens, emphasizing that the entire state is praying for them.
