Following a prosecutor’s order , the Police released the identity details and photo of a 50-year-old gymnast from Argostoli , who is facing serious charges of rape , abuse of minors and child pornography .
Disclosure is a measure that is activated in exceptional cases and follows a specific procedure. In this case, the police authorities proceeded to disclose the data and photographs following a relevant Order from the Kefallinia First Instance Prosecutor’s Office , which was subsequently ratified by the Patras Appeals Prosecutor’s Office .
This is KOULOUMPIS Parisis, son of Dimitrios and Evangelia, born on 13-02-1976 in Argostoli, Kefalonia. The accused was arrested on 3 July 2026 by police officers of the Argostoli Crime Investigation and Prosecution Department .
Criminal prosecutions
Criminal proceedings were brought against the 50-year-old for a series of criminal acts :
Rape of minors – continuous, committed and attempted, with a minor victim in series.
Abuse of minors – continuous, completed and attempted, with a victim who has reached the age of 14, consecutively.
Aggravating circumstance — commission of the act by a trainer , i.e. a person who gives lessons to a minor, in violation of article 342, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code, continuously and consecutively.
Child pornography — serial, committed and attempted child pornography, in the form of acquiring and possessing material through information systems, and with the perpetrator producing the material acting as a person to whom the minor had been entrusted for supervision or custody .
The weight of the trust relationship
The common element that runs through almost all the charges is the position from which the acts were allegedly committed. The legislator explicitly provides for stricter treatment when the perpetrator is a person to whom the minor has entrusted — or, more precisely, his family has entrusted — for education, supervision or custody.
The status of a trainer functions as an aggravating circumstance here precisely because it presupposes regular, often one-on-one contact with children, in a context where power and trust are given. It is the kind of relationship that makes approach easier and disclosure more difficult.
The case is at the stage of criminal pre-trial proceedings, with the accused maintaining the presumption of innocence until the issuance of an irrevocable court decision. The disclosure of the data, as provided for in the relevant provisions, aims, among other things, to protect society as a whole and to facilitate the investigation, as there may be other incidents that have not been reported.
