Traditionally, totalitarian failed leaders say exactly the same thing.

I am only pointing out the totalitarian nature of this claim.
They do not try to convince people of the correctness of their choices .
They are not trying to show that they have a better plan than everyone else.
They cannot convince citizens to vote for them and are trying to terrorize them!
They have a “totalitarian mentality” because they believe that only they exist .
And they are “failures” because they know they cannot convince .
They just shout that everyone else is much worse …
The most striking thing, however, is that they do not represent anything different .
They express different variations of the same thing .

Both have similar economic policies . They generate super-surpluses by taxing everyone, then hand out piecemeal benefits to create clientelistic relationships .
Tsipras did it with direct taxes . Mitsotakis with indirect taxes (and the inflation that arose in the meantime, which greatly helped the over-performance of revenues)…
Mitsotakis denounced Tsipras’s excessive surpluses before 2019.
And now Tsipras is denouncing Mitsotakis’s super-surpluses and asking him to come back to continue generating super-surpluses (by returning to direct taxes).
Instead of abolishing this policy, they are trying to perpetuate it.

During the Samaras government, a new modern electricity production plant from domestic lignite was inaugurated in Ptolemaida . During the Tsipras government, it did not operate. During the Mitsotakis government , it was permanently closed . And today it is being replaced with an imported natural gas unit!
Meanwhile, Germany inaugurated in 2022 (eight years after Greece) a unit of the same technology as that of Ptolemais, with the prospect of its use until 2037. And the possibility of expansion until 2042.

There are many differences between Tsipras and Mitsotakis – some apparent, others substantial .
But there are also multiple similarities .

And then, when the dead ends of this strategy became apparent, when Trump was elected in the US and the political balance in Brussels began to change, Mitsotakis “discovered” hydrocarbons again . And he brought Chevron to begin exploration in Greek plots, from which the French Total and the Spanish Repsol had previously withdrawn.

Both are struggling to prove who best implements Brussels’ policies that are already failing , already causing “explosions” across Europe , and are already being revised.
— Tsipras is struggling to prove that he is not the same as before .
That is why he has removed all the key government officials that he himself appointed during his administration.
Mitsotakis is struggling to prove that he is the “continuity” of his party , when he has deleted one of its former leaders and former Prime Minister, Samaras , and when he has removed its other former leader and former Prime Minister, Costas Karamanlis . And when he has already lost more than half of his voters , since 2023!
In the first case, Tsipras is trying to forget his recent history and appear as a “mutated” Center-Left .
In the second case, Mitsotakis has already created a “mutated” party , which has cut bridges with the history of his faction .
Both of them don’t want to remember their past .
Not because they are trying to get rid of their “burdens” and move towards a more “hopeful future” .
But why do both converge – from different starting points – on the same current decline ?
— Tsipras has shaken off the trappings of the “Radical Left” and is trying to join the Party of European Socialists .
At a time when this party is weakening almost everywhere in Europe . And where it is not weakening, it is because it is joining the positions of its opponents…
Mitsotakis remains attached to the ideals of a European Center-Right that is more… “far-center” than “right” . And that is shrinking everywhere! And when it is not shrinking, it is because it is clearly moving further to the right .
Both converge, from different starting points, on the same illusions , on the same decline , on the same euro-impasses .
At a time when societies everywhere are looking for an alternative solution to get out of Decline …

Mitsotakis cannot be an “alternative solution” to… himself!
And Tsipras cannot be an “alternative solution” to Mitsotakis.
It’s not “alternative” – they represent the same thing .
And it’s not a “solution” – they are trapped in the same dead ends .

They cannot cope with extremes .
Tsipras expressed and covered the far left for years.

For seven years, Mitsotakis has failed to have Kasidiaris’ conviction finalised at the Supreme Court…

Mitsotakis considered Tsipras an “ideal opponent” in the elections. “Ideal” because he had already defeated him twice.

In the latest polls, Tsipras is probably losing ground , and Mitsotakis has not managed to break out of the stagnation .
